Marc Haldemann is a Swiss Designer and Photographer, born in the countryside and now living and working in Zurich. He is a graduated product designer working in the field of interior design.
He came to photography through his fascination in space, proportion, forms, and structures. In the beginning, Marc began to capture moments and places he discovered on his travels to foreign places. In the course of time, he developed a more aesthetic view of the landscape's forms and structures, which goes far beyond a documentary claim.
He describes his work as a composition of the elements given by the environment on site, to form a coherent overall picture. His photographs are about silence and solitude as well as respect and reverence for nature.
The current series "Beyond Structures" was shot in Iceland and the USA. The photographs show timeless excerpts from landscapes that seem to be detached from their actual location. In the abstraction, they receive their very own aesthetic.
