I am a non-binary artist living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I like to think of the act of photographing as collecting. The subjects I depict are often familiar surroundings and everyday moments, and the process in which they are made is mostly instinctive and reactive. Although presented as straight photographs, I would not consider the images to be documentary or journalistic—rather, they are a way of turning the visible world into a reflection of my own thoughts. This series is still in progress but focuses on themes of self-reflection, humor, mortality, apathy, empathy, and a search for meaning through mysterious signs and unclear experiences.
